Biography

Growing up on the Gold Coast, Ebony Horn got a taste of exhibiting work early at the student exhibition, Energies with a sculptural piece created in her senior schooling. She is now currently studying fine art at the Queensland College of Art, Southbank and has shown a playing card installation work in a student exhibition in the university project gallery. Now in the third year of her degree, she is creating her final body of work for the exhibitions at the end of the year.

Voluntary and Work Experience in the Arts

Third Year Mentor - Fine Art Camp 2012

2012              With resident artist, Chris Bennie, a series of works were created around the ritual of
                     a 'concept'. Students were required to make a totem, trinkets and perform in
                     response to the concept decided within the group. The role of the mentor was to
                     facilitate and spark the students' creativity, as well as ensure that the group dynamic
                     was effective and productive.

Cutters Art Currumbin

2008              Work Experience, Art and Framing Store, Currumbin, Gold Coast, QLD.
                     The experience included working with a practicing artist who has his own business,
                     selling art supplies and providing services such as framing and canvas production,
                     attending art classes, undertaking general cleaning duties, touching up paintings,
                     choosing matt boards for framing, preparing stretchers, stretching canvases,
                     invoicing, customer service and gaining product knowledge.
